This blog is an attempt to keep in touch with all kinds of people across all kinds of miles while I am in Syracuse, New York for my year-long internship at Atonement Ministries.
The blog name is a result of finding a reference to Syracuse in Acts 28:11-12, following Paul's continuing journey in Rome:
"Three months later we set sail on a ship that had wintered at the island, an Alexandrian ship with the Twin Brothers as its figurehead. We put in at Syracuse and stayed there for three days…"
Syracuse was a famous city in the ancient world, being the capital city of the island of Sicily. Archimedes, the famous mathematician, lived there.
Believe me, I am no mathematician. I am simply going to try and preach and live the good news and stay out of the way of the work of the Holy Spirit.
Travel and transition blessings to you, Laura! May all the affirmations of your internship see you through your final year of seminary and beyond!
If you’re ever in Corvallis, look us up!
